Explore tax increment financing (TIF) basics using the examples of Cook County suburbs, which have 293 TIF districts, Chicago, which has 146, and several other prime examples of TIFs in action. The presentation focuses on the publicly accessible GIS system interface that visually identifies each district. Next, learn about Jamaica’s national efforts to increase taxpayer compliance rates by analyzing localities and determining the best way to focus resources.
